We trap rats, mouse and other pests around Highbury houses to helps more native birds make Highbury their happy home.
Snuggled up against ZEALANDIA Te Māra a Tāne, we’re the first suburb to benefit from the ‘halo effect’ with birds spilling out from the sanctuary to settle back into the city. We’re also next door to the Polhill Reserve, where kākā, tīeke (saddleback) and tūī have been nesting for the last few years. We can help by trapping the pests around our houses and gardens.
We provide free traps, information and updates. We ask you to report kills so we can report Highbury’s contribution to the bigger predator-free Wellington goal.
